New Carnivore Viewpoint

Get ready for an exciting experience at our two-level viewpoint – NEW for July 2024! This unique vantage point has been integrated into the existing African Walking Trail and offers an incredible opportunity to observe our pack of African wild dogs as they frolic and explore their brand-new habitat. Often called ‘painted dogs’ because of their stunningly diverse coat patterns, these fascinating creatures are a sight to behold.

This is the first time in the Park’s history that guests will be able to see the African wild dogs on foot. African wild dogs are classified as ‘endangered’ by the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature), with the species facing threats in the wild such as poaching and habitat loss.

Meet the stars of our exhibit: brothers Brock, Bruno, and Billy, along with the charming female, Monique. Watch as they interact, play, and showcase their natural behaviours in this specially-designed environment.
